Wedding Dress Details and Family Ties Highlight Elgin Ceremony

The bride wore a white area gown with chantilly lace over satin and a fitted bodice, long sleeves, and a senior train. Attendants included Joann Baltz as maid of honor, Mary Finnegan and Eleanor Schutte as bridesmaids. The groom, attended by Joseph Reierson, and groomsmen LeRoy Dawe Dean Torkelson, with ushers Ronald Meyer Randolph Reierson. The couple will live on a farm near Elgin. The bride, a Postville graduate, worked in Cedar Rapids. the groom, a Luther College attendee and veteran, had lived in Highland Township and later Minnesota and Texas before settling in Clyman. He died April 10 at fifty-nine.

Life Sketch of John Muncie

Funeral services for John Muncie aged 58 were held at the Muehlethaler funeral home with Rev. E G Steinman in charge. Burial followed in Wadena cemetery as the local American Legion post conducted the military service. John was the fourth son of James and Barbara Muncie born in Carluke Scotland on February 14 1804.

Funeral for Frank W Bakeman Held in Hawarden

Funeral services for Frank W. Bakeman 65 were held Saturday April 11 at the associated church in Hawarden with burial conducted by the American Legion post at Grace Hill cemetery. Born December 17 1887 in Elgin he moved to Haron South Dakota in 1906 then worked for the Chicago and North Western railroad. He later moved to Hawarden eleven years ago and served as conductor on the Yankton Hawarden freight line. Survivors include his widow daughter Mrs Alice Rosenberg of Hot Springs South Dakota a son Delbert of Los Angeles California and two sisters Mrs Ed Bauder of West Union and Mrs Ray Stratton.
