Friday Deadline For Reporting Earnings For Social Security
Self employed persons who netted 400 in business for themselves during 1959 must file their income tax returns and report their earnings for social security by April 15. The social security tax on the 1959 net earnings is 3-3/4 percent and must accompany the tax report mailed to the District Director of Internal Revenue. Over eight and one-half million are building old-age, survivors and disability insurance protection by making their tax reports.

Coffee Day Co Chairs Named in Hardin County
Cleo W Reynolds of the Reynolds Store Buckeye and Ernest Katrys owner of the Princess Cafe Iowa Falls named Hardin county co chairs of the Coffee Day for Crippled Children to be held statewide on Friday April 15. The event is sponsored by the Iowa Restaurant Association with aid from the Iowa Policemen's Association. A new feature is lapel buttons giving free coffee at participating eateries. Proceeds support a residential summer camp for Iowa's crippled children under construction near Acksy as the newest project of the Iowa Society for Crippled Children and Adults.

Assembly of God Hires New Pastor
The Rev. John Perry of Wallar ville Kansas has been accepted as pastor of the Eldora Assembly of God Church. He will assume the post May 8 replacing Rev. LeRoy Whiteman who will leave after Easter to lead a First Assembly of God Church in Chanute Kansas. Perry spoke to the congregation April 3 and was approved at a bustling meeting April 7. He and his wife are parents of three children.

Burial services held at Eldora Cemetery for Mrs. Pearl Bowers who died at her Grundy Center home from a heart condition. Born Sarah Lou Shirk in 1881, she married Pearl Bowers in 1902 and farmed locally for 33 years before moving to town in 1936. Survived by husband, daughter Mrs. L. W. Horner of Grand Island Nebraska, brother Harvey Shirk, Melvin, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Union Services For Lyman Sheets 73
Funeral services were Sunday at the Community Church of Union for Lyman Sheets, longtime Union auto dealer who died at his Eldora home after a months long illness. Burial was in Union cemetery. Flowers and music noted, with Wade Dilla von and Lloyd McDonald officiating. Sheets, born May 14, 1886, Parsons Kansas, married Lela Jane Wood in 1910 at Union, active in autos until 1957. Survivors include two sons Ray and Lyman and seven grandchildren.
