Edmonds rower maps 2400 mile ocean to Alaska
Edmonds resident Chris Cunningham, 33, completed a 2400 mile row from Mukilteo to Cedar Key via the Ohio and Mississippi rivers and the Gulf Coast. He recalls the voyage’s pain yet values the alive feeling and the bonds with water and readers. He began long expeditions in 1979, built wooden boats, and chased historical designs inspired by Nathaniel Bishop. He plans future trips with wife Cindy Altick after her March UW master’s degree graduation.
