Hunger Project volunteer climbs Mount Rainier to fight hunger
Edmonds physician Grauke joined a mountain climb to spotlight world hunger and raise funds for The Hunger Project. He now leads four to five hour briefings at homes and schools, training locals to educate and recruit about 18 people monthly. He stresses individual will as the key to ending hunger. Information stacks include 7 billion people fed with current tech and 35 countries previously overcoming hunger.

Main Street revitalization session to aid Edmonds area
National Main Street Center personnel will lead a half day session on economic revitalization in Edmonds on Wednesday September 28 at 10 a.m. in the Plaza Room of the Edmonds Public Library. The event promotes historic preservation tied to business district redevelopment.

Greening of Edmonds starts with memorial street trees
Edmonds plans fifty trees to be planted in downtown core in January and February under a new memorial street-tree fund. A five thousand dollar donation by developer J Ward Phillips funded the effort to plant maples amber and hornbeam along Fourth Fifth Main and Dayton streets with donors able to sponsor a tree for one hundred dollars and have their name engraved on a plaque at the Edmonds Public Library.
