Blind woman trains with guide dog Rue in California
Sharon Caldwell of Edmonds learned to use her new guide dog Rue, a golden retriever, after completing an intensive 28 day in residence course with 15 other students and their dogs at Guide Dogs for the Blind Inc in San Rafael California. The program trains dogs to avoid obstacles and disobey dangerous commands. There is no charge to the blind for the animal or training, and the school relies on private contributions.
