Port grants refund option to waiting list members
Port of Edmonds commissioners approved a one time refund of deposits equal to a month’s moorage rent for waiting list members. The 2-1 vote followed Port Manager Valiga’s recommendation after extending transfer privileges to pre year tenants. A 60 day refund window was suggested while other actions moved meeting dates.

Rotary Clubs Launch Drive for Medic 7 Ambulance
The Edmonds and Lynnwood Rotary Clubs start a fund drive to replace the eight year old Medic 7 aid car used by South County paramedics. The goal is $50,000 to have a new vehicle by late 1987, with the old unit sold and the backup car moved up. The original Medic 7 has answered over 13,000 calls, saving 275 lives.

Faulty meter leads to pot seizure in Mountlake Terrace
Mountlake Terrace police concluded a water leak scare hid a marijuana grow operation at 23401 52nd Ave. W. Seventy to eighty plants were found in the basement under lamps. Police seized the plants valued at 30 000 to 50 000 dollars and expect to charge the identified suspect with possession with intent to sell when he returns. The case began after a meter reader noticed a wildly spinning water gauge. The landlord and officer found strong marijuana odor upon entry.
