Judge Denies Bail In Tampering Case In Lynnwood

United States Magistrate Phillip Sweigert ordered Lenore Ann Lee 30 of Lynnwood held without bail pending arraignment on product tampering charges. Lee was arrested outside Big Daddy’s grocery store after a security guard said she injected a substance into two cartons of ice cream and tampered with a bottle of wine. Final charges expected by Jan 8 1987. Lee has a prior criminal record and poor court-appearance history. Prosecutors cite strong evidence she may have committed a crime while on release from a Spokane case. Defense argues lack of local ties and evidence, with a possible state charge instead of a federal felony. Continued on page 2-A.
