A 30 year old woman was arrested after injecting a unknown substance into ice cream at Big Daddy's in Lynnwood. FBI in Seattle investigates with FDA analysis. guard wrestled syringe away and the store closed briefly before reopening. A male companion is sought for questioning.
Funeral services were held for state Rep. Dick Van Dyke at Silver Lake Chapel as investigators revealed he died by carbon monoxide poisoning after diverting exhaust into his car. The 56-year-old Republican from District 39 B had been in poor health and low spirits following a failed re election bid and a hospital stay for diabetes. The controversial two term legislator faced censure attempts and an expulsion vote during his time in office. He lost to Democrat Art Sprenkle in last month’s election.

The Snohomish County PUD and BPA clash over a proposed 13 percent rate rise by October next year and a further 10 percent the following year.
