Lynnwood approves 19.9 million dollar city budget for 1987

The Lynnwood City Council passed a 19.9 million dollar 1987 budget with an 11 percent rise in police and parks funding, two new full time posts, and shared funding for a Meadowdale Playfield hire. Classmates Rally With Blood Drive For Wreck Victim Donna Foster

Stevens Memorial Hospital to go smokeless in 1987

Stevens Memorial Hospital will become smokeless starting January 1 1987 prohibiting smoking in patient rooms lobbies cafeterias and by visitors. The policy follows the Great American Smokeout and was supported by 76 percent of surveyed medical staff while commissioners voted 2-1 for the change, with employees given a distant designated smoking area.
