Principals to Register Voters in Cincinnati Schools

Cincinnati Public School principals are deputized to register voters at all district schools on May 31 June 1 and 2 from 3 30 to 7 30 pm with daytime arrangements available by request. Locations include Withrow Hill Lyons Jnr High Peoples Bramble Hye Park Kilgour Oakley Elementary and others. city board continues daily registration at 622 Sycamore St. through June 3.

Mariemont board weighs earlier school start and calendar

The Mariemont Board of Education considers an earlier start date with Aug. 31 or Sept. 6 as possible first day, linking to a calendar study and labor day holiday. If Sept. 6, last day would be June 13 with Thanksgiving, Christmas, and spring breaks kept. Residents may submit opinions.

Memorial Day Parade Set for Mariemont

Mariemont scheduled its annual Memorial Day parade forming at the parish center in Plainville and Chestnut at 8 15 a m Monday May 30 and starting at 8 30 a m for services at the municipal building then the Memorial Grove Cemetery at Oak and Wooster for observances.

Oakley chamber eyes tree planting beautification plan

Oakley Chamber of Commerce discussed a tree planting beautification program to boost property values and curb appeal. Ron Jackson, president, outlined in ground and container options with estimates of 230 and 176 dollars per tree, noting installation subcontract possible at 75 dollars per tree. Mt Lookout Civic Club sets work program meeting

Mt Lookout residents are invited to a work program meeting on May 26 at Cardinal Pacelli School Hall Ellison Ave with city community administration staff. The club seeks PTA sports groups business leaders and seniors for discussion of Totten Ave hillside and Tusculum Heights zoning. A June 2 meeting will follow in Hyde Park to prioritize projects for funding from city budgets and Community Development Block Grants.

Dr Suskind honored with 1977 Health Achievement in Industry Citation

Hyde Park physician Dr Raymond R Suskind director of UC College of Medicine environmental health and of the Kettering Laboratory received the 1977 Health Achievement in Industry Citation from the American Occupational Medical Association. He is noted for expanding occupational health programs and leading the Kettering Laboratory. The report also notes his education at SUNY Downstate and UC, plus leadership roles at UC and the University of Oregon Medical School.
