Thomas J. Long of 1107 Paxton Ave Hyde Park was elected again to the board of trustees of the Cincinnati Association for the Blind at the association’s April 25 annual meeting at the Cincinnati Club. CAB is a United Appeal agency offering services and employment opportunities for blind and visually handicapped people in the five-county Greater Cincinnati area. Long is president of Long-Borneman Inc.

Mariemont Council Reviews Summer Recreation Plans
Mariemont village council discussed the summer recreation program on May 13 with debate over whether a 40 hour work week is needed for a summer recreation coordinator. Tom Aders proposed programs for all ages, including senior citizens, and suggested using UC education students for hands on activities. The health and sanitation committee recommended paying the coordinator 150 dollars per week, a plan opposed by Henry Kleinfeldt and Donovan Hopkins who questioned full time commitment. The council also reviewed a sidewalk project on the Miami Road hill and approved recommendations for a limestone path despite concerns over cost.
