Wildlife Needs Consideration From Out-Season Hunters
Harsh court reaction to several law violations prompted the Texas Game and Fish Commission to caution out of season hunters. The director cited fines for shooting dove, quail, ducks and deer, and an antelope killed in closed season. He noted squirrel season may lure more hunters, but could raise temptations. Twenty deer after-dark stalking cases led to fines up to 200 dollars plus costs, and forty-four violations included missing fishing licenses, with fifteen cases involving non residents. A week’s visit included Kay Kristen and friends.
