A damage suit and an uncontested land suit were settled in Osere Community. The case involved Mr and Mrs Wide Alien and others, with a dispute over title to a tract of land. Defendants received defense and settlement terms after a year of proceedings.
In the Southwest Texas Annual Conference service held in San Antonio Rev D Rhos Allison announced Rev Goodenough to be appointed pastor of the local Methodist Church. A 48 year old freshman from A and M was fatally injured near Columbus on Farn Road 109 when his car skidded on a curve, struck a culvert and safety posts. He died about three and a half hours later in Columbus Hospital. The driver, Harvey Dean Hardy of Port Lavaca, was en route to visit his parents. The father operates a service station in Port Lavaca. The crash is being investigated by Highway Patrol.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 today for Mrs Elizabeth McCoy 63 with Mall Bauer Funeral Home announcing the rites. The body was brought from Eagle Lake by train and burial will be in the Mason Cemetery. She was born November 20 1888 in Hodgensville Kentucky and lived in Texas and Washington with her husband G B McCoy. Surviving are her husband two sisters two brothers and many nieces and nephews.
The Retail Merchant Association of Hagie Leke in the process of naming new directors by mail ballot. Ballots mailed to members with eight candidates and present officers listed. figures include R. B Wilcox as president and other officers.
Mrs Dorothy Janneea Frazier, daughter of Mr and Mrs andre Toh TL Janecka of Columbus, was killed in a crash Sunday night in Corpus Christi. The incident occurred during late hours and local authorities are investigating the wreck.
