Garden Club backs Seeds For Peace drive at Eagle Lake meeting
Seventeen members of the Eagle Lake Garden Club met Thursday at the home of Mrs. W. E. Lenhart showing deep interest in the Seeds For Peace project sponsored by the Garden Club State Federation and National Council. Donations of 50 cents per packet to feed a family of five support a $5,000 fund for an audubon Nature Camp in Texas. Mrs. Jenkins urged community donations and Mrs. A. H. Dipple accepted as acting chair. The club will also sell decorated notepaper to raise funds.

Cub Scouts Blue and Gold Dinner Held Wednesday
Cub Scouts Pack 78 held its Blue and Gold dinner with Leaders and parents from the WinLee Suwards area, Houston executive present. Jerry Carfile served as master of ceremonies and awarded the Cubs their star for another year of service. A dumplings covered dish supper accompanied the meal and a sermon to Scouts about good citizenship was preached at First Baptist Church. Edward IX visited Colorado County and instructed Pack 78 mothers on kite making, with a tournament planned for March.
