Durham superior court finished civil trials last Friday with two damages verdicts for plaintiffs. Mrs. Rachael Freeman won 225 dollars against the city over street grading effects on her property, while J. H. Taylor won 500 dollars from the Western Union Telegraph Co. for non delivery of a message. The judge declined to reduce the jury award in Taylor’s case.
