Two Boys Arrested for Store Robbery
Two white youths aged 16 and 17, Arkes Thompson and Albert Crabtree, were jailed during the holidays by J A Harris J P for breaking into N W Browns West End Grocery Co and stealing about forty to fifty dollars from a till and a cache of pocket knives. They were arrested in Graham by Chief Moon after most of the money was recovered. Crabtree has prior trouble with local officers.

Marriage confusion leads to wed after misfired license
On December 28 the Register of Deeds issued a license for Mamie Cates and Tillett Ragan who were later discovered to be fooling. William E Mangum sought a license. officials say the bride was in earnest this time and the marriage occurred Wednesday. Also noted, Miss Mary Ladd of East Durham died Tuesday of pneumonia. funeral held Wednesday.
