Tar Heel Council No 2 Jr O U M presented a Bible and an American flag to Durham High School last Friday night. The ceremony at the Academy of Music drew a large crowd with the Durham High School choir providing music. Rev J H McCracken led the prayer and Rev E M Hoyle presented the Bible while C B Green presented the flag. Prof W G Brogden accepted both items for the faculty. Dr J B Carlyle delivered an education address after Dr Sikes of Wake Forest could not attend.

Mrs C T Pearson aged 25 died last Saturday at 5 am from consumption. She leaves a husband, parents, three brothers J E and Arthur Bowling of this city, E S Bowling of Petersburg, VA, and sisters Kate Bowling a student and May Bowling at home. Funeral at Trinity Methodist Church, interment Maplewood. Also reported is a small wreck of the Southern railway near Cary delaying traffic.
