Robbery Report Involving Fruit Dealer Near Bahama
W J W Terry, a fruit seller near Bahama, was robbed Saturday night after agreeing to deliver apples to a buyer who led him through Sugar Hill. He was assaulted, awoke with a revolver pointed at him, and had possessions stolen before the suspect fled. Police have no solid arrest lead. Burglary case bound over to Superior court without bond
Raleigh Miller faced the mayor on a burglary charge and was bound over to the Superior court without bond after evidence showed he entered the Hayti home of William Moore, stole about $2, and escaped through a window. The mayor cited the open door as preventing a life-conviction, with nineteen other cases heard, many for drunkenness. Homer Winston, son of Judge R W Winston, was sworn in as a lawyer in the Superior court and plans to practice in Norfolk.
