Two members of the bridge gang quarrelled at Hachita Saturday night resulting in the death of Howard of Kentucky. Robison of Lordsburg fired the shot, investigators report.
The A N M railroad offers an One Fare round trip excursion to Lordsburg for the Ringling Brothers Big Show at Junction City next Tuesday and Wednesday September 26 27. The trip promotes travel to the performance with discounted fare details for attendees.
A. W. Forbes, mining engineer of Tucson, was in Duncan as advance agent for Hon. Eugene S. Ives Democrat candidate for the U S Senate. Forbes arranged a talk tomorrow night at Hobbs Hall where Ives will address citizens to inform an intelligent vote in the upcoming primary.
Judge John H. Campbell of Tucson and Grand Lodge Knights of Pythias Arizona head visited Duncan last Thursday and Clifton. Weather prevented the local lodge meeting, but Campbell toured Duncan Friday and met most of the boys.
J L T Watters of this place seeks the Republican nomination for Greenlee County Supervisor. A longtime resident, he has served as Justice of the Peace, U S Court Commissioner, Post Master, Notary Public and Pharmacist. He helped drive Indians away, taught school, ran a hay baler and lost his leg in that line of work. He is plain spoken, respected by foes, loyal to the party, and viewed as a strong candidate to win the party vote and become a supervisor.
The issue endorses W O Wheatley for Clerk of the Superior Court. A Democrat, Wheatley serves as Clerk of the Board of Supervisors and has prior Forestry Service work. He is portrayed as educated, diligent, and devoted to public service with strong support for his nomination.
Section foreman D B Jardon was severely hurt when his hand car jumped the track near Duncan and entangled. He suffered a badly cut leg, was dressed by Dr. Moore, and taken to Clifton Hospital where he is reported as doing as well as expected. Two Mexican laborers were hurt but have returned to work.
Just as we go to press Hood McCamant resigns from the Duncan school board and Jas V Parks is appointed to fill the vacancy.

Citizens of Clifton organize a Chamber of Commerce to push a southern Arizona Greenlee County highway. Twenty seven members join the first night with Dr Burtch as president. Delegates will go to Prescott for the October 2 meeting to advocate the southern route. Duncan may receive a delegate. locals urged to name one.
