What Think Ye of Christ at Altamont Seminary Commencement

Forty three students graduated May 20 with diplomas and pins as Shauna Fisher played preludes and postludes. The event featured a class play What Think Ye of Christ with fourteen performers and remarks by Joyce Thayne and Frank Walker.

Valuation Notices Mailed to Duchesne County Property Owners

Valuation notices were mailed May 20 to Duchesne County property owners showing 1966 assessments as affixed by County Treasurer Lawrence E. Luck. Complaints or abatement applications go to the Board of Equalization on May 31 June 13 or June 20 at the Duchesne courthouse starting 10 a.m. Tax notices will be mailed in September with taxes based on the valuation or changes by the board. Susana Doty, County Treasurer, will collect taxes.

Vernal Bromley Buys Old Duchesne Ward Center

The Duchesne Ward and Duchesne Stake Center building near the Bromley-owned service station in Duchesne City has been sold to Vernal Bromley. A back east buyer arranged the sale, and Bromley plans future improvements. The vacant building, once the town hall, dates to 1905–1906 settlement growth with prior LDS ownership in 1921 for 2 750 dollars. Poppy Day in Duchesne is Saturday May 28, chaired by Mrs. Carma Gunter.
