Steven Davis son of Mr and Mrs Eugene Davis earned a geology degree from Utah State University on March 21, 1966. He is employed by the New Jersey Zinc Company based in Salt Lake City and travels as an exploratory geologist. He currently works out of Winnemucca Nevada.

Arbor Day Trees Planted at Duchesne Elementary School
Blue Spruce were planted during Arbor Day ceremonies on April 29 at Duchesne Elementary School Grounds. The trees were placed in the southwest corner near the flagpole marking the first planting in the new school landscaping.

Roy Sorensen, Altamont High junior, took second in pole vault at the Tabiona Invitational last week. His name was printed as Larsen in the winners list, prompting his parents from Talmage to note the error. Roy says it was his first win and hopes the correction helps.

Five Duchesne Wards Relief Society ladies traveled to Salt Lake City to select beige material for pull drapes and sheer curtains. The work is by a local company. completion hoped by month end. Duchesne Ward held a Hawaiian Luau on May 3 with about 45 attendees and authentic fare and dances.

Duchesne Scouts Win Blue Ribbon at Camporee
Duchesne Second Ward Scouts Troop 258 won the blue ribbon at the Duchesne District Scout Camporee. Eleven Troop 258 scouts competed under Scoutmaster Raynold B. Hasen as 52 scouts checked in overall. Encampment was directed by Dick Estes Altonah and Bert Dannenberg Roosevelt who presented the award to Troops 258 268 Moon Lake Tabiona and Altamoni.
