Verna R Mecham was named secretary treasurer of the Duchesne Commercial Club succeeding Ruby Fitzwater who resigned. Residents of Duchesne may pick up license plates at county court house on set dates January 31 Myton February 4 Tabiona February 9 Altamont February 11 Neola and plates issued in Roosevelt every Tuesday. Max Ronald Addley of Fruitland received a 1966 beer retail license costing 150 dollars a year for Addley Store Fruitland.

George E. Marett the Duchesne County sheriff since 1959 was chosen as vice president of the Utah Sheriff's Association for 1966 at the annual county convention in Salt Lake City. Raymond Jackson of Juab County was elected president, with Evan Whithead of Washington County as second vice president. Two new school buses arrived with routes assigned: a 36 passenger bus driven by Ray Baum on the Fruitland to Duchesne route and a 60 passenger bus on the Arcadia route with Stanley Keller as driver.

New Bus Schedule Tabs Duchesne Route Times

Vern's Conoco Service depot agent Vernal Bromley notes a new travel timetable over U S Highway 40. The coast to coast through bus from Duchesne to Denver departs Salt Lake City eastbound at 9 18 p m and the westbound to Salt Lake City and Los Angeles leaves Duchesne at 9 a m. A local Vernal bound bus runs daily from Duchesne at 11 18 a m arriving at 5 25 p m and returning to Salt Lake City arriving at 7 45 p m.
