The Laron Beckstead family of Talmage celebrates Alta E Beckstead’s 26 years of teaching at Duchesne Elementary and a long 33 year family teaching legacy. She began in 1928, returned in 1942, and earned a BS in elementary education from Brigham Young University in 1955.

Golden Passport on sale for 1966 federal permit
New seven dollar Golden Passport is now available at Ashley National Forest offices. The permit covers entry for the purchaser and all occupants in the vehicle to 7000 federal recreation areas. Three permit types exist including a seven dollar annual, one dollar per-visit, and a fifty cent per day boat launch fee at Cedar Springs. Permits required for most campgrounds June 16 to September 15. Proceeds fund land and water conservation and support state outdoor recreation projects.
