Duchesne Hosts Regional Music Festival Surpasses Expectations
Over 500 Uintah Basin students attended the Duchesne regional music festival with 200+ entries judged by BYU music professors Helen Richards David Dalton and Paul Pollci. Duchesne High School 40 participants earned many excellent ratings under E Allan Bates, with no superior marks awarded.

Basketball Banquet Honors Duchesne Eagles Team
Duchesne High School held a Monday night banquet in the Du Chesne Elementary School multi purpose room. Coach J Bennett Josie was saluted by players while Russell Cowan received a coach’s trophy. Mrs Lois Stansfield chaired the planning committee and Russell Cowan led trophy presentations to the team and longtime cheerleaders.

Duchesne High School Junior Prom Chair Leads DHS Event
The Duchesne High School junior class will hold its prom on April 15 in the new gymnasium. Kenneth Farnsworth chairs the committee with Claudia Davies Ronald Taylor Myrna Carter Eddie Brown Carolyn Wright and Mike Bleazard. Art Smith's Orchestra will perform and post prom is April 16. Phillip Moon emceed the program. A family dinner served 120 people including players and boosters.

An organizational meeting at the Duchesne County Courthouse elected Kay Hamilton as new fair board chairman and named David Sam as co chairman. Sam, a former city attorney, plans to return to Duchesne in June to reside. Susana Doty, secretary, had mailed notices to last year’s fair workers.

American Legion District Meeting Set for April 12
The American Legion district meeting will be held April 12 at Jensen's Leland Von Gardner Post No. 124. District commander James E. Lenartz of Bonanza will lead the gathering to finalize plans for the District Nine convention in Duchesne on April 30, with Duchesne Post No. 22 representatives reporting.
