Impressive Graduation Exercises at Duchesne City High School
The first Duchesne City High School graduation held at Ward Hall on the 17th featured graduates Reta Bates Lela Davis Tom Woods and Joseph Rawlins. Invited by Rev Frank Connor the ceremony included a Welcome address by Tom Woods a valedictory by Lela Davis diplomas by Superintendent W A Paxton and a benediction by Le Roy Funk. Dean Gerritte DeJong of Brigham Young University urged broader life interpretation and higher expectations for the graduates. Elsie Johnson and Clara Mayhew performed a vocal duet and the crowd called the event impressive and worthwhile.

Improvements in Uinta National Forest
Plans for the coming season include building a bridge over the Strawberry River on the Victory Highway road to Diamond Fork and Wales Canyon. Thirty miles of trails and maintenance of minor roads are planned with a total of 14,575 dollars allocated. Additional funds cover a storehouse, guard headquarters, range improvements, stock drift fences, water developments, and artificial reseeding, under forest ranger supervision.

It is estimated 30 million pounds of quality dairy butter are in storage while prices are at a 25 year low. The Dairy Men's League Cooperative Association of New York says a six million farm family nationwide could eliminate the surplus by each consuming one extra pound of butter per week for five weeks. It notes many farm families still buy substitutes, missing protective vitamins found in dairy products, and urges farmers to act at the dinner table.

Memorial Services Held at Ward Hall by Legion and Auxiliary
Memorial services are set for Saturday at 10:00 a m in Ward Hall under Legion and Auxiliary auspices. The program includes songs America and Star Spangled Banner, an invocation reading by Mrs Rulon Larsen, solos by Berg, a sermon by Rev Donald J Jenry of Myton, and benediction by Bishop Rulon J Larsen. Boy Scouts will usher and accompany the Legion to the cemetery.

Baby Beef 4-H Club Feeds Calves With Mixed Results
Six members of the Baby Beef 4-H Club, three boys and three girls, feed calves. Chall Alfred has two calves eating about four pounds of grain daily, Melvin feeds one calf born December 21 and weighing about 440 pounds, Alma Lamb recently joined with a Red Poll calf, Elizabeth Gentry keeps two calves a grade Shorthorn and grade Hereford eating about five pounds daily, Scott Lusty and his sister also feed purebred Hereford stock. County Extension Agent notes the group will show these animals during the baby beef event.

W Gd Gentry of Miyton reports strong gains from hay fed cattle with 300 pound per animal over 165 days using two tons of hay per animal. Ogden buyers say his steers looked fattest and drew attention as market prices lagged. Scout Troop Dance Aids Garden Project And Hike
