Locomotive Enters Moffat Tunnel Port East Portal
Last week the first locomotive entered the Moffat tunnel at East Portal to deliver to workmen. The ventilation system worked well and carried smoke out rapidly. The first mile of broad gauge track has been laid and trains are expected to run through about February 20. The tunnel may stay in use through March and April with few stops due to snow slides.
