Colton Road Bills Favored By Congress

Two Bull Elks Imported for Utah Basin Herd
The Utah state fish and game department imports two bull elks from Jackson Hole to join the existing small herd in the Uintah mountains. New Bridges Planned Over Yellowstone and Lakefork Rivers
Construction crews organized by the forest service will rebuild a wagon bridge across the Yellowstone River and a trail bridge over the Lakefork River near the National Forest boundary. Both replacements follow flood damage from last fall's high water and are part of repairs after the same storm period damaged county roads and bridges.

Well Known Indian Stockman Dead
William Wash a famed Indiana stockman in the basin died at his Indian Wench home last Friday of pneumonia after a brief illness. He left a wife one son and three daughters and many friends. Wash was called the cattle king among the Indians with about 1000 cattle and several large sheep herds. His son Chalmas, attending school in Oklahoma, came home for the funeral held in Randlett Tuesday. the service drew a large crowd of both Indians and whites.

Funeral Service Held for Mother and Baby Fisher
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday noon for Mrs Lizzie Snyder Fisher and her baby at Boneta. The service featured singing and prayers with Bishop Austin G Burton and local church members in attendance. Mrs Fisher, a devoted wife and mother of six, is survived by her husband, six children, five brothers, and seven sisters. She was laid to rest in the Boneta Mt Home cemetery as mourners gathered from the community. Also noted, Mrs Irgin is ill with an ulcer of the stomach.

Opening Dance a Huge Success at Victory Park
The second annual opening dance at Victory Park drew people from Uintah basin Price and Colorado. A six piece orchestra played familiar tunes as 187 cars filled the lot and overflowed into the field. Dancing will continue Saturdays with 1 am closing on weekends.

Street Improvement Begun This Week In Duchesne
At a Monday evening meeting the Duchesne council approved street work to connect federal aid projects. A. G. Young & Company will complete the plan from Main Street to 4th through 6th streets, with 18 foot graveled and surfaced width. The state will finance structures for five blocks and two bridges on Strawbery will be rebuilt.
