Starting Saturday night April 1st two passenger buses will operate from Duchesne to Victory Park for dances with stops at Myton and Roosevelt en route and return after the event. Mrs John Quire of Randlet died suddenly Saturday April 14 after five years of ill health. She came to America 29 years ago, lived in Tibia Missouri and Minnesota, later moved to California, then near Randlet with her husband and son. Interment was in Randlet Cemetery after funeral services conducted by Rev. W. J. Howes.
Midwest oil crew reports the Duchesne test below 2900 feet with slow progress due to over 2000 feet of water and hard formation. Depth near 1000 feet below casing, shale and sandstone mix. More casing from Vernal and Nangoly. superintendent to visit Casper this week. no plan to stop drilling. Al Clover Smith may stay at Duchesne.
The Utah Democratic state meeting in Salt Lake City on April 9 selected national convention delegates for Houston. Delegates were chosen with half votes each. William H. King and William W. Ray elected by acclamation. D. M. Draper named state chairman. Logan designated as future state convention site with date left to executives.
Price Chamber of Commerce defends stance on the Price-Myton road project amid claims surrounding Uintah basin firms. Officials say the chamber acted as intermediary, not initiator, in the matter, while railroad officials express sentiment about aid.
Ford assertions indicate parts will keep being manufactured for millions of Model T cars. Despite near one third of Pepalgamens demand, Ford plants continue output. Many Model T components remain in use in the United States as radiators and tapes show. exports also noted.
The Duchesne post of the American Legion and Ladies Auxiliary bought lots months ago to build a club house. Construction began two weeks ago and the roof is near completion. One section will be finished now with the rest to follow later. The building, numbered 28N30, will serve as a meeting place and venue for parties, with banquet facilities and equipment to be added.
