Agricultural engineers at Auburn and Alabama Polytechnic Institute announce streamlined wartime storage for sweet potatoes. They cut lumber use by two thicknesses with insulation board and improve floors with solid concrete foundations, enabling a cheaper, air efficient design while enabling masonry walls and alternative heating methods. Five Harvest Suggestions for Peanut Crops

Farmers should harvest peanuts when vines are dry. Stack poles should be built over peanut fields so small stacks can be formed. Loosen peanuts in the soil with a plow or implement. Allow peanuts to wilt and then stack carefully on stack poles.
