Alabama Legislature Plans Extended Session to October First
Montgomery Sept 6 The 1915 General Assembly will not adjourn until about October 1 to allow Governor Henderson time to review the revenue and license measures after they reach his desk. Lawmakers had hoped to adjourn around Sept 20 but the bill’s many provisions require careful consideration and enrollment. If a conference report is sent Tuesday, enrollment could push an extra three days, but the session will stretch at least three weeks to complete passage and avoid rushing bills to the governor. Speaker Carney said finishing after Sept 20 seems unlikely.
