Mrs Flowers recently returned from a trip abroad including time in the Holy Land will lecture to Lafayette Street Sunday School Class 26 during the lesson period Sunday morning. All members urged to attend and hear the instructive talk with visitors welcome. The nominating committee will report new officers for the committee.
Danny Clark age 15 son of D C Clark of Dothan Route 8 died last night at 12 o clock after a neck injury from a shallow creek dive left him paralyzed following an operation. Funeral services were held this afternoon with Rev Baldwin officiating. Fellows & Forrester were in charge of arrangements.
W M Bill Teal Barbour county deputy sheriff lies in critical condition at his Clayton home after a paralysis stroke. Teal has served two terms as Barbour sheriff and is the father of O H Teal the 22 year old current sheriff. Brother R B Teal also served a term. The Teal family is long known in Southeast Alabama for law enforcement.
The ashes of George Barr McCutcheon famed novelist who died in New York were laid to rest in the McCutcheon family lot at Springvale cemetery in Lafayette Indiana after simple rites held this afternoon.
The New York Sun reports Rogers Hornsby, manager of the Boston Braves, was purchased by the Chicago Cubs for 200000 dollars plus players Webb Heathcote and Maguire. Hornsby also received a 25000 signing bonus and will play second base for three seasons at 40000 a year. London policemen have new auto operating class.
Florala, Oct 26 Covington County High School shows one of its strongest football nines in history with 26 varsity players under Coach Jenkins. The schedule favors continued success with key early wins, and eight seniors eye final campaigns as the Wildcats chase an undefeated run.
Mrs Alma Williams 36 wife of W C Williams of Grandview died at 12 30 today in a local hospital. She leaves six children and a large Extended family. Funeral services will be held from an unspecified location with interment at Clark Cemetery. Do Than Undertaking Co handles arrangements. Survived by her husband father J B Underwood of Dothan Route 1 and five sisters including Mrs Minnie Bass Mrs Leila McLeod Mrs E Hamrick Mrs Jewell Bush and Miss Sara Underwood.

Dothan High crushed Elba yesterday with an 82 to 0 football victory at Memorial Stadium. Hart Grant and O Neal sparked a highlight double lateral play while Tindell Grant Hart and O Neal starred on offense and Jack Ford supplied strong ground gain in the second half.
Dothan High delivered a fierce offensive showing and a stubborn defense in a 42 to 0 victory over Elba High at Meniorid Stadium. The game featured hard punches, a blocked punt recovery by Tindell, a Hart to Grant to O Neal 11 yard TD, and efforts around the goal line though several fumbles and a missed extra point.
