Roosevelt shifts course as postwar policy shifts debated
The piece argues President Roosevelt may pivot to a rightward, businesslike postwar plan led by figures like Jesse Jones and Edward R. Stettinius. It notes tensions with leftists, a State Department shakeup with Sumner Welles's departure, Harriman’s ambassadorship to Soviet Russia, and a broader shift to reassure business and defense interests while hoping for renewed confidence in the administration.

Indorsement of Levy in New York Court Race Sparks Debate
A critical expose targets the American Labor Party and endorsements in the New York Supreme Court race. The piece links Matthew M. Levy with Browne-Bloff rackets, cites connections to unions led by Dubinsky and Rose, and contrasts Levy with Aurelio and Frankfurter, arguing the AFL party line masks corruption and political convenience. The column questions labor movement integrity and warns voters about ties to underworld influence.

Letters To Editor From The Eagle Reader
Editor, The Eagle. I write after reading the front page news of Lewis Forrester’s conviction. At about 18 he pled guilty to a 20 year sentence while another man with a wife and children received 10 years after threatening to contest the case. The court allegedly let Lewis go when he lacked knowledge of the crime, but he remained in prison and has since rebuilt a respectable record. He had a serious illness then and has since improved, now working war jobs away from Dathan. I fear public shaming hinders his family’s effort to move on.
