A plan to draft and adopt a comprehensive traffic code seeks to resolve conflicting rules from decades of ordinances. The move would standardize parking, stopping, and other violations to aid officers and records, with prior efforts dating back about ten years.
Dothan surpassed the combined United Charities War Chest quota by $1005, reporting a total of $22,525 raised for the drive that began October 18 at the Houston Hotel. Camp Rucker contributed $1,000, part of a $5,000 effort under Captain Charles Young Jr. and the Alabama War Chest. Seventeen agencies in Dolhas and six organizations will share the funds, aiding 23 agencies in total.
