Rep Boykin of Alabama introduces a bill to let Alabama remove tolls on 38 bridges by extending the toll period from 1946 to 1968. If bonds aren’t retired, new charges may apply. Refunds for Alabama deer dealers in 1934 tax paid
Twelve of sixteen Alabama deer dealers who paid 1000 for Federal Heensen in 1934 have been refunded in full, Harwell G. Davis, IRS collector, announced. The refunds follow a Supreme Court decision declaring the tax unconstitutional in the Guys Constentine case. Eleven of the twelve reimbursements have gone to Montgomery dealers, with others in Decatur Birmingham Mobile and additional Montgomery cases.

Decatur Man Drowns In Bear Creek Near Iuka Mississippi
Als., employed by the TVA clearance division, Ba be Whitfield of Decatur, Alabama, drowned in Bear Creek about a mile northeast of Iuka yesterday afternoon after wading the swift stream. His body was recovered later and prepared for transport to Decatur for funeral services and burial. Kansas game wardens report excellent fishing this year.
