Chamber of Commerce targets 400 new members in drive
Dothan Chamber of Commerce aims to add 400 new members to its roster, boosting the total beyond 200 existing members. Sixteen members will canvass Dothan business districts with Dr W T Burkett and E M Wells Jr leading hospitals and doctors offices outreach. The drive started in February with four letters and door to door canvassing beginning March 12, with final canvassing to close by week end. Pick Wages, son of Mr and Mrs James A Brown, from Dothan, has been assigned to the Fourth Infantry Regiment of the 25th Division serving in Japan, after training at Camp Gordon and Camp Maxey and overseas duty starting August. The unit saw action in Pearl Harbor’s aftermath and campaigns in Guadalcanal, New Georgia, and Luzon.
