Former Dothan Woman Indicted For Murder Of Husband
Mrs. Johnny Word widow of Rev J P Word retired Presbyterian preacher of Panama City Fla was indicted for his murder and jailed in Bay county. Word’s body was found in a woodpile after shotgun wounds. She claims to have been at a cafe when the body was found. She has been married three times and is the daughter of Mrs J T Thrasher of Dothan. The Thrasher family remains prominent locally. The law firm of Farmer Merrill and Farmer represents her in Panama City. Trial date not set.
