Dance at Dothan Country Club March 14 Night

A dance is set at the Dothan Country Club starting 9 30 Saturday night March 14 for members and out of town guests. An orchestra will provide music. Mrs W H Bennett was called to Columbus Ga today for the sudden death of her uncle G C Barfield who died Thursday. He was brother of Mrs C J Barbour of Washington DC formerly of this city.

Lorain McLain Birthday Dinner Celebrated at Home

A birthday dinner honored Lorain McLain this month at her parents home in Headland. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs. John Smith of Dothan route four and many relatives from Headland and Blakely Georgia. The gathering followed an illness and a hospital stay.

The Southside Parent-Teachers Association met yesterday afternoon at 3 00 oclock. Mrs J T Weeks, president, presided as officers for 1947 48 were elected: Fred Adkins, president. B C Warrick, vice president. F Z James, secretary. Arnie Crete Phenix, treasurer. J V Richey, reporter. Miss Alice Elliott led the devotional by Rev D S Nowell, and C C Moseley spoke on Good Citizenship. A social hour followed with room mothers as hostesses serving refreshments.

Mother-Daughter Tea Held by Houston Girl Scouts

The 35th anniversary celebration of Girl Scouting featured a mother-daughter tea at the Houston Memorial Library on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs Clyde Smith and Martha Speight led the event with guests and leaders, cake with 25 candles, and keepsakes given to each attendee.

Interesting Program Heard By Members of New Century Club

Miss Mary Jo Cook hosted a New Century Club meeting with a short business session led by Mrs. Alacen Rowe. The program featured an art exhibit by Mrs. John Heal of Orlando, a French materials talk by Miss Marcelle Campana, and medical history notes by Mrs. E. S. Ford. Many members assisted with refreshments and organization.
