New Hearing Sought for Jackson Boon Case

Attorney E. Thigpen, appointed to defend Lige Jackson, a negro boy convicted of murder in this county, has devoted himself to the case and expects a new hearing from the supreme court soon. Jackson was sentenced to hang here last fall, the sentence was appealed and confirmed, and Thigpen asked for a new hearing which should be granted shortly. He expects a decision within about a month.

Soldiers Pass Through Dothan En Route to Galveston Texas

A train load of 320 soldiers moved from Charleston to Galveston Texas last night, after spending days on the border. They carried ten days rations and provisions per regular army orders issued recently. Seven guards watched from the cars as the troops peered at Dothan through guarded windows.

Dynamite Explodes at Puasint Prairie Plant Wrecking Village

Three carloads of dynamite exploded at the DuPont Nemours plant near Puasint Prairie Wisconsin shortly after 8 pm. The blast leveled the village area injuring several and leaving one confirmed death. The plant covering 190 acres was razed with many buildings destroyed and livestock killed or scattered across the countryside. Rescue efforts and casualty counts continued into the night.

Paving Starts on Newton Street in Town

Work on paving the croga streets progresses with a large crew rushing completion. Dothan Guards Earn Notable Inspection Praise

The Dothan Guards impressed during a night inspection by Captain Crowley of the 21st Infantry at Fort McPherson with 166 percent attendance. All guns were clean. Sergeant J. M. Heweti won top prize for best loaned equipment and Captain Crowley praised the guards, while they were teased about their showing.

Grand Gr. Sale Draws Crowd at Strickland Brothers

A large crowd attended the grab safe sale at Strickland Brothers today. Shoppers opened packages and found prizes, with many items selling for fifty cents. some received better valued articles for the same price, though none exceeded the purchase cost.

Mrs J Judah Dies at Home on South Lana Street

Mrs J Judah died after a period of illness at her home on South Lana Street. She is survived by her husband and two young children. The body was sent to Ozark for burial this afternoon as the family requested a community service in her memory. Nix Drug Company G P Davis returned today from Avanta.

Troop Train Wrecks En Route to Fort Leavenworth

Denison March reports a troop train wreck injuring soldiers near Durant Oklahoma. One wagon of horses destroyed and nine soldiers killed in the incident on a Missouri, Martin and Texas railway troop movement from Fort Leavenworth to San Antonio. The damaged train detached and resumed journey later that night.
