London AP reports massive damage near Essen as British and Canadian bombers struck Krupp armaments works in the tenth night of Allied air raids. Pilots described a 40 minute bombardment with high flames and a dust of explosions. RAF losses totaled 14 bombers.
American Flying Fortresses and Liberators bombed the Nazi bases at Lorient and Brest on Saturday afternoon, with RAF and Allied fighters escorting.
