Reinstatement of Grimes by absorbing Napier Field
Dothan city officials weigh reinstating Grimes as a municipality and extending its limits to absorb Napier Field. If Napier Field residents control the new government, they would elect mayor and council, set taxes and licenses, and guide policy. Army-turned suburb offers ready-made streets, sewerage, water and power systems for industrial use. Dothan would help transfer municipal assets, but all moves depend on Napier Field’s residents and industrial groups.
