New Home Given Observation Unit for Alabama Squadron
The 166th Observation Squadron of the Alabama National Guard will receive a new home at Birmingham Municipal Airport with 12 acres set aside for construction of quarters and hangars. City land grant and a 1921 appropriation fund the buildings. Previously based at Roberto Field, the unit had occupied leased land from a steel company.
