Diverting River Water Aims to Reclaim Plains Lands
Jean C Hoff of the Colorado School of Mines outlined a large engineering plan to divert water from the Colorado River basin toward the South Platte system. The scheme includes multi mile tunnels under the Medicine Bow Range, several dams, conduit tubes and canals to back up and channel flow to arid plains. Work would start next summer.
