City to Begin New Water and Light Plant in March
Alderman B R Pilcher announced the planned water and light plant project should start by March first. The city awaits financing and plans to cost about 90,000 with the old plant assets added. The jet location lies between the Central of Georgia Railroad and the Central Ice Plant. If the old site is reserved for a municipal building, a new firehouse and enlarged fire department may occupy the upper floors of council offices. The piece also notes a local street fair featuring L T Spinks and other visitors, with admission 15 or 25 cents.
