Rebels May Replace Greenville In Sally

SAVANNAH Ga AP By February 6 or either the South Atlantic Class A baseball league should know whether Montgomery Ala or the late lamented Class B Southeastern League will replace Greenville FC as a member club. There were doubts today whether owner Jim Gaston of the Greenville Spinners will meet that deadline for posting a 5000 performance bond. The Spinners were ditched recently as a Brooklyn Dodgers farm club and Sally Vice President Walt Campbell said yesterday Gaston has only five players under contract and has given no indication of another connection on the majors. In Montgomery Ben Goltsmen who sold the Rebels to the St Louis Cards last January was busy trying to organize a company to buy them back and steer them into the Sally. The Southeastern collapsed Monday because only four clubs could be rounded ISR as sure starters. The Cards also own the Columbus Ga franchise in the eight relub Sally but Campbell said Willaint Walsingham St Louis farm.
