1000 Damage Suit Filed In U S Court

City cuts fines for four youths. parents appeal to court
The city offered to reduce the $102 fines imposed on four youths who removed and damaged school zone signs by half, but their parents, led by H. J. Hulse, J. A. Fowler, Grover Parrish, and J. L. Horne, appealed to the Circuit Court. They argued the six month suspended sentence and $102 total fine were excessive and called the action an example. The youths remain free on $200 bonds while the appeal proceeds.

Clyde Segrest a Slocomb business man was rushed to a Dothan hospital after a two mile south of Dothan one on highway 231 wreck. He suffered internal injuries not yet determined and collided with Shepard Sanders who was slightly injured. Damages were about 700 dollars. A second crash near Gordon on highway 84 involved Cammie Tee Lasseer and truck driver Hiram Worstham with no injuries and 175 dollars damage. No charges were filed.
