Southern seeks permanent injunction over train service
The Southern Railway asked a three judge federal court to stop the Public Service Commission from restoring two Birmingham to Columbus Mississippi passenger trains. A temporary restraining order extending the court action was issued after the ICC ordered cutting back service to save coal costs. The railroad claims a $125,000 yearly loss and argues the PSC delayed too long in deciding. The PSC had ordered trains reinstated and the suit names Judge Kennamer and others in Mobile and Montgomery.
