Substations planned ease overload as co op speeds service
The cooperative plans two new substations in Samicen and Ashford to relieve overload. Substations ordered in 1946 with spring 1948 delivery. temporary transformers will be rented to serve applicants on existing lines by April or May. About 350 applicants expected to be connected. a 605,000 loan funds this expansion and line construction to reach 1,500 rural homes.

Train wreck injures nine in Burke Virginia
A Southern Railway passenger train derailed near Burke Virginia killing Elizabeth Breeden 18 and injuring nine others. Army medical officers aided at the scene. five hospitalized, including Mrs. S.
