Lt J J Krause at the local recruiting station announced three area men and three veterans from Ozark Graceville Coffee Springs and Westville have joined the Army through the University program. He noted the president’s end of hostilities does not end GI bill benefits or allowances for enlisted soldiers and that official guidance will come shortly.

O T Cowley of Fayetteville Tenn has become president and general manager of the Mr Pepper Bottling Co in Dothan after eight years with the firm His path shifted from aiming to be an athletic coach to business following his wartime service and college work He was born in 1910 and served in the Navy from 1943 to 1945 earning five battle stars and ribbons He and his family recently relocated to Dothan and anticipate building a home as materials become affordable again He believes 1948 will see production return to prewar levels at the bottling plant.
