Etna Eruption Continues Into Its Third Day

Alabama Veterans Loan Fund Proposal Sought

West Legislature would create a $1,000,000 veterans loan fund funded by a temporary 12 percent sales tax until the amount is accumulated. The plan, presented by Director Horton of the State Department of Veterans Affairs, would establish a five member Alabama World War II veterans board and a loan commissioner. Loans up to $2,500 for personal needs and up to $10,000 for homes farms or business financing would be available.

Number 23 Gadsden will attend a banquet as guest of Lt. Gov J Clazer amid talk of a possible April special session to release about 12 million dollars in the income tax surplus fund for public schools.
