Governor O NeaL Signs Local Option Bill in Alabama

Governor Emmit O Neal signed the Parks local option bill in Montgomery at 4 30 pm on a private ceremony with friends and officials. The act ends state wide prohibition and shifts to local option. Pens were presented to Senator Moulthrop and The Mobile Stenographer as observers discussed the Park regulation bill.

Washington debate tops Dothan meeting highlights

A Monday February joint meeting of Joe Cleeronian and Franklin s0o cities featured a Washington centric program with the affirmative winning the debate that Washington deserves more credit for establishing the union than Lincoln. Mr Howard Baxley earned best speech as local officials and residents, including John and Charie Crawford, shared talks and a recitation. The post office observed Washington’s birthday with limited service, and upcoming lodge activities, housing and local school honor rolls were noted along with extensive grade reports and student names.

Breach of Promise Charged in Parisian Suit

New York, Feb 21. In a $100,000 breach of promise case in the Supreme Court, Annette Bertha Grunspan a Parisienne, testified Walling met her in Paris and proposed in multiple European countries. Walling, now married to Anna Struncky, allegedly funded her schooling and molded English manners to present her to his friends after marriage.

Huntsville Backs Western League Franchise Bid

Huntsville residents show strong support for a proposed franchise in the Southeastern League. T. H. Smith, secretary of the league, wired that Huntsville will join a circuit including Anniston Selma Decatur Gadsden and other towns if funding can be raised.

Greensboro Pastor Tapped by Dothan Church

Greensboro Herald Journal reports Rev J H Jennings, pastor of Greensboro Baptist Church, is considering a call from First Baptist Church of Dothan Alabama. Jennings plans to visit Dothan to assess the offer and decide whether to leave Greensboro for a larger church.
